Dusky Grouse, Atop the Mountain

I was along the ridgeline of the hawk watch of Mt. Aeneas of Montana and a group of Dusky Grouse popped out from the mountain grasses and ran ahead of me down the opposite mountain side.  It was this lone straggler that stayed behind to watch my movements as I approached from below.  I was laid out in a prone position to capture him just stadning above the tips of the grasses, watching me ever so closely.
