Gopher Tortoise on Guard

During the fall migration in Palm Beach, Florida we were wandering through Frenchman's forest when I stumbled into this Gopher Tortoise guarding his burrow!  He appeared to be basking in the late morning sunshine before heading out to forage.  He was intently watching me get closer to him.  He didn't sit still long, but I was able to capture him in full 'pose'!
