Ancient Eyes of the American Alligator

Exploring the canals of Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in late Spring, you typically see a good amount of newborn American Alligators.  This young crocodilian was kind enough to perch on the mud bar so I could shoot this close up of him.
